President's Message

Tri-Cities Chapter Members,

As 2018-2019 President of Washington-Tri-Cities Chapter of the Institute of Management Accountants, I would like to welcome you to a chapter year filled with educational opportunities, community service activities and opportunities to help the Tri-Cities chapter grow and expand our influence throughout the Tri Cities area.

Membership in IMA provides ample opportunity for personal and professional growth. From educational sessions and seminars to networking and community service, there is something for everyone regardless of where you are in your career.

The 2018-2019 year will provide many opportunities for you to become actively involved in the growth of the Tri-Cities Chapter and enhance your own personal career growth.

Our chapter is currently in the Warner Division within IMA globally, and we have more than 100 members.  Tri-Cities placed 5th in the chapter competition in the Warner Division in 2016-2017.  This means that we could provide exceptional services and educational opportunities to our members.  However, as always, there is room for improvement.  Teamwork will make that happen.

Your board of directors is working on being number 1 for 2018-2019!  You can help by becoming more involved – volunteer to serve on the board of directors, become involved in the planned community service activities, attend educational meetings and seminars.  Please make plans to attend.  We can all benefit from your expertise.  Seminars are being planned for December and in April.  The monthly educational meetings and the seminars provide enough continuing professional education to nearly meet the annual requirement for membership and the CMA designation.  Having a vibrant viable chapter is the direct result of an active membership and board of directors working together to accomplish chapter goals.

Thank you for the privilege of being president of the Tri-Cities chapter for 2018-2019.  Together we can make a difference and be shining lights in our financial community.  Please make plans to attend the monthly meetings, seminars, and community service events.  Take advantage of the occasions to network with fellow members and expand your circle of knowledge and influence.   I welcome your ideas, suggestions and feedback to help improve the chapter’s effectiveness.  Together, as a team, we will have another successful year.

Sincerely,

Karen Mobley, MPA
President 2018-2019
